My husband and I stumbled on this place late one night after work and could not have had a better experience. It's January, so we were feeling worn down and tired. The combination of BarTaco's friendly service -- every single person was smiling and happy to help us even though it was the end of the night -- and the deliciously fresh food and drinks had us skipping by the time we left. We shared the chips & guac & salsas, korean ribeye rice bowl, and pork belly tacos. We both agreed that the pork belly tacos were the best bites, but everything was good. To drink, my husband had a margarita and I got a pomegranate limonada. The limonada was very tart, which I liked, but is good to be aware of. We will definitely be back. It was like a mid-week vacation to wake up our senses.

Solid restaurant, great spot for a casual dinner and catchup with friends. I like how efficient the ordering system is. I was skeptical at first because I don't really like how restaurants now will have a QR code, no paper menu, etc., but the system was super smooth and for small tapas style menus this actually works quite well. I loved that you can do separate checks very easily, which is nice for a larger group. Tacos were tasty with innovative proteins like duck, pork belly, etc. The fish taco was crispy and delicious. I liked the salsas - spicy and great flavor. 4/5 stars only because the tacos were kind of small for the price, if the value was a bit better it would be an easy 5/5

I popped in here tonight before dinner in the area. I sat down and was warmly greeted by bartender Tim. He suggested the bartaco margarita and it did NOT disappoint! And got chip and roja salsa also very flavorful! I could have ordered like 4 more plates of that! I will have to come back here for a girls night out or date night with the husband. The ambience is very cozy and welcoming!

Wow! Tacos were so good & loved the twist on each one I got. I loved how easy it was to order in the app and they were made to order as you put it in the app. Get the glazed pork belly, actually get two....err or three because these were so good. And a roasted duck. Hehe. I wasn't a huge fan of the Baja but I don't like aioli and I know I know, that's a big part of it, but I was hoping the fried fish would have more flavor. The crispy oyster had a bit of a briney taste--would pass on this next time. If I lived here, I'd be a regular, and if I had a bigger appetite, I would have gotten a few more flavors and maybe another pork belly! ;)

My friends and I had plans in the area on a Friday night and were looking for a quick bite. It was around 5/6 pm and we were able to walk right into the restaurant and be seated. For a somewhat large party (6) that was a pleasant surprise! The restaurant ambiance was simple, cute and nice. We were seated next to a bookshelf, which had some interesting books. This restaurant wasn't like you're conventional restaurant where you have 1 server for you're whole meal. You order everything through a QR code and someone drops it off. If you need anything, then there is a card for you to put up and someone will help you. At the beginning of our experience there, Marco, had helped us. He not only explained the whole process but also gave us recommendations! He was absolutely wonderful and deserves a raise! The food arrived at our table super quickly after ordering. The only downfall, was that the food arrived and it was room temperature. As someone who likes their food blistering hot, that a disappointment. I got caught up in conversation and forgot to take pictures but I'd recommend the guacamole and the Verde salsa!

Came into Bartaco Seaport for a late dinner. The manager Hollywood was super welcoming and friendly. I decided to sit at the bar. Both the bartenders were very attentive, funny, and made amazing drinks. I ordered the ahi tuna crispy rice bowl. It was delicious. The sauce was sweet and tied in with all the flavors, the crispy rice had great texture and there was a few pieces of ahi. The spicy margarita was made with squeezed juice. It was perfectly refreshing and spicy. The churros was kinda of dense and doughy. I prefer my churros fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. It comes with dipping sauces. The decor is beautiful inside. Parking is difficulties the area. Stays open late. Overall, great atmosphere, great food, exceptional customer service.

Great place! Especially for large groups as ordering is easy to do right on the phone and service is quick. I love the pork belly tacos and they have some fun mocktails. The chips are interesting because you have to break them yourselves and they don't give you much to start but you can always ask for more. I will continue to come here when I am in town for work!

I absolutely LOVE this place. The first time I went was in Nashville and this is my second time, but in Boston. They're consistent with the food and service. I also love how they have a giveback program tied to their menu. If you order a certain taco, they donate part of the proceeds to a charity. They rotate the taco each time and it's noted on the menu when you order. I came for dinner around 7:45pm on Wednesday and they were decently full, but I was still able to find a spot at the bar. My server, Dani (or Danny - not sure how she spelt it) was AMAZING! She was so sweet and was so patient when I asked repetitive questions. The food and drinks. Just wow. I love the tequila and Mezcal selections they had. The flight was a great way to sample some of them. I really like how their tacos are so small and reasonably priced. Each one is like 2-3 bites and I can get multiple to try all different flavors. I also think each taco is really flavorful and doesn't even need additional sauces, though they're available if you want them.

TL;DR: These aren't hyper-traditional tacos, nor as they supposed to be. These little pieces of heaven are delicious, varied, creative, and balanced. The margaritas are also top-tier, and as fresh as they come! Great service, fair value, and an awesome vibe and location rounds out a terrific experience. ~~~ After reading one of my usually long reviews, a friend commented they are more like blog posts. Ever since, I've truly embraced that concept! Yelp is chock-full of simple and effective reviews; the kind that would make Sebastian Maniscalco* happy. These are a paragraph, maybe two, not a 18-page essay on asparagus! Maniscalco unabashedly called me out as at times I write up to the character limit! Sometimes even past it, having to trim and summarize while cursing under the my breath. So, I have some Story-Times for you: 1. When I was younger, my parents would always buy pulp free OJ. That was until one day they bought "Grovestand" loaded with it. You know something? We all loved it! 2. I have been on a quest to find the best taco in the greater Boston area. The best I've been able to come up with is in Manchester, NH (until now, hooray!). 3. I once bought one of the spicier hot sauces I saw on Hot Ones, the "Morita Bourbon Maple Reaper." Delicious and hot, but manageable, despite having reaper peppers in the mix. I say this so you get an idea of my spice tolerance. 4. I once tried a Dyson vacuum with that laser-enhanced brush head. Sounds like a gimmick - it is not. With that out of the way, onwards! First, the margaritas: I had the opportunity to try the regular and spicy Bartaco Margarita. I thought the limes being squeezed in front of you was a gimmick, it is not. This makes the drinks as fresh as they get, and the teeny bit of lime pulp that makes it in adds to the freshness. The margs themselves were top-notch! They were superbly balanced in all domains. The house tequila they use was smooth as silk. I didn't *think* these were too boozy, until I felt like dancing on the bar top after one (slight exaggeration, but you get my drift). Final note: the spicy margarita is properly spicy - I am not saying you cannot handle it, but I am saying this is not for the faint of heart and/or those who think green Cholula is hot. Then there were the tacos - I will [uncharacteristically] spare you from agonizing detail on each of the eight tacos I ate. However, I will say these were all distinct, interesting, creative, and of course, mouthwateringly flavorsome! The protein is not skimped on, nor is it falling out. Similar to the spicy marg, the spicy ones were fire! I mean.... can I get a glass of milk, please?! (j/k - but not really). My only critique is that in the pork belly taco, while delicious, the protein was a little tough. Otherwise, all around fantastic, and I didn't even reach for the homemade hot sauces. There is a time and place for authentic, meat/onion/cilantro tacos. However, sometimes you want something a little more fun, and this is the case with Bartaco. Speaking of fun, the location is modern and hip, and despite being very busy, the service is kind, attentive, and speedy. A great atmosphere for a Friday night without having to bring earplugs. I'm not about the club scene, anyway. As for value, while $3-4 per taco is not the cheapest around, the eight tacos I ate (a large helping, if I say so myself) came out to ~$30. Not at all bad for the quality and location! Similar with the margaritas, $13.50 in light of everything seems more than reasonable! * No shade intended, he is genuinely hilarious, and can call me and my antics out any day the week.
